1. Cocorrina Moon Magic 2020 Planner
This is probably the first time I have ever consistently updated a planner. It’s now April and my relationship with my Moon Magic Planner has been going strong. There are many differentiators that this planner has versus other standard planners. The day spreads are broken down for you by checkboxes. If you’re like me and organize your day like a to-do list, this planner is for you.
I also love that the planner has sections like a Budget Tracker and Goals because you can manage your finances and organize the goals you want to hit for the year.
2. The Mindfulness Coloring Book
This is my go-to activity when I need to decompress. A couple of years ago, I read an article that showed studies that coloring helps with stress and anxiety. I purchased this coloring book from Amazon and can vouch how coloring can help destress. There are so many coloring pages in this little compact book!
3. My New-ish DSLR Camera
True story: I am a frugal bitch. I’ve been taught my entire life about financial responsibility so I find it challenging to splurge on things for myself. It’s rare that I make large purchases for myself, but I had decided in the new year that I would treat myself. What is the point in working hard if you can’t buy something nice for yourself?
I debated back-and-forth between a designer handbag or something else, but I wasn’t sure what that “something else” was until COVID-19. I knew I wanted to brush up on my photography skills during my spare time because I have been comfortably shooting with my Sony a5000 for years now. Instead of purchasing a designer handbag, I decided to invest in a DSLR camera.
My camera isn’t exactly new — in fact, it’s used! I purchased my Canon 5D Mark IV from KEH and found their prices to be really reasonable. At first, I bought the Canon 5D Mark III but realized it lacked WiFi capabilities that I enjoy for editing on-the-go, so I made an exchange. Now I have the Mark IV and it’s in pristine condition, and I LOVE it.
4. Skillshare
With my new DSLR, I had to pick up some classes because the camera is a whole new beast. I hadn’t shot with a DSLR for over 8 years. Skillshare is a learning platform with online classes taught by industry leaders and practitioners. Here are the classes I’m taking on Skillshare:
- Fundamentals of DSLR Photography With Justin Bridges
- This is a highly-rated class, and with good reason! This course with Justin Bridges is interactive and he gives you assignments you can do on your own. He explains things in a simple and concise way for photographers of all levels to understand.
- Introduction to SEO: Tactics and Strategy for Entrepreneurs
- I know the basics of SEO, but it’s always an area that I need a refresher on because I don’t always practice it. This was a helpful refresher!
- Investing 101: Understanding the Stock Market
5. Nike Training Club
With the stay-home measures, it’s been challenging to get a good workout in at home simply because I’m not self-motivated when it comes to exercise. I used to workout with the NTA app but they moved most of their quality workouts to their premium plans about a year ago.
Due to the pandemic, Nike Training Club’s premium workouts are free for a limited time! Download the NTC app here.
